Rev. Dr. Holland is a native of Kansas City, Kansas and a third generation United Methodist Pastor in Wyandotte County. He is married to Trinity’s First Lady, Julie Solomon and they have four beautiful children: Daniel, Gabriel, Luke, & Esther (pronounced Estaire).
Dr. Holland has a passion for God, for the church, and for the community. He is a powerful preacher, teacher, and pastor with a vision for a church that truly has Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors. He came to Trinity in July of 1999.
In addition to his role as Senior Pastor, Dr. Holland serves as a leader in our community. He was elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2011 as Commissioner At-Large District One of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS. In April 2013 he was elected the 28th Mayor of Kansas City, Kansas and the 3rd Mayor/CEO of the Unified Government.
Dr. Holland received his BA in Philosophy and BS in Anthropology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas; his Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado; and he received his Doctor of Ministry from Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. He currently serves on Saint Paul’s Strategic Planning Team and has been elected by his clergy colleagues from the Great Plains Annual Conference as a delegate to the 2016 General and Jurisdictional Conferences.
Honors and awards include 2009 Emanuel Cleaver II Community Service Award; 2007 Wyandotte West, Best of the West, “Best Clergy”; and 2005 Rotary International Paul Harris Award.
